The Science Centre is a multi-facility complex in Surat built by the Municipal Corporation of Surat in 2009. It is the first of its type in western India. It is a place much loved by the science lovers and enthusiasts in the city. The Centre has amphitheater, planetarium, museum and an art gallery for the visitors. The Science center is one of the best places to visit in Surat.
It is a built-up beach along the Arabian Sea located 21 kilometers South- West of the city. The Dumas beach is quite famous among the locals of the city. It is a beautiful place to watch the sunset and relax on the sands. Dumas beach also has a Dariya Ganesh Temple located adjacent to the main beach, which also is a tourist attraction at the beach.
Jagdish Chandra Bose Aquarium
Jagdish Chandra Bose Aquarium is an underwater aquarium which is the first of its kind in India. It is located in the area of Pal in Surat and is named after the Bengali scientist Jagdish Chandra Bose. The 25,722 square meter space has more than 100 species of fish, from fresh, brackish and marine waters, in 52 tanks.
Also known as the Old Fort of Surat, it is one of the best places to visit in Surat. It was built by the Gujarat’s Sultanate on the basis of Ferozkhan Tughlaq of Delhi Sultanate. The Ahmedabad king Sultan Mahmood-III was very much annoyed by some frequent destructions of Surat hence, as a result, he ordered for a very strong castle and handed over the work to Safi Agha who was a Turkish soldier given a title of Khudawand Khan. It is an important historical site in Surat.
Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Surat Municipal Zoo
The Zoo is also known as the Sarthana Nature Park is a zoological garden and is Municipal Corporation of Surat. It covers an area of 81 acres and was opened in 1984. It became as the first zoo in South Gujarat region and Gujarat’s breeding center. The zoo has successfully bred lions, royal Bengal tigers, Himalayan bears and white peafowl etc. It is a good place to visit in the city.
Chintamani Jain Temple

Sardar Patel National Museum at Bardoli
Bardoli is a significant place in the history of Indian Independence. The Salt March was started from Bardoli which later on came to be known as the ‘Bardoli Satyagrah’. It is situated approximately 34 kilometers from the center of Surat City. Details of the historical movement of ‘Bardoli Satyagraha’ and the life of its legendary leader ‘Sardar Patel’ has been permanently captured in the museum. Located on the campus of the Swaraj Ashram, the museum was established in 1981 to observe the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallab Bhai Patel. Sardar Patel National Museum Bardoli is one of the important sights along with this there is also a beach that attracts a lot of tourists.
Iskcon Temple Surat
The Iskcon Temple of Surat is situated on the banks of River Tapi and it is a splendid abode of Lord Sri Sri Radha Damodar. It remains opens from Monday to Sunday between 11:00 am and 8:00 pm, the devotees can spend time in this period and seek blessings of the Lord.
